According to the EU Parliament (shortened version): "A machine's ability to display human-like traits."
Examples, this is AI:
- AI chatbots
- Diagnosing (X-ray analysis) – AI: better than humans
- Netflix recommendations
- Self-driving car
- Google Search (BERT, etc.)
- Google Translate
Example, this is not AI: Simple computer programs
CS - AI - ML - DL = Hierarchy of fields in CS.
- ...So AI is:
- ML
- RBS: Rule-based systems
- A combination of ML and RBS
Short for: Generative AI
AI that generates relatively unique content.
Formats: Text, image, video, sound, etc.
Both, depending on what we humans do with the technology.
Good: Saving lives (early diagnosis)
Bad: Ending lives (invading a country with AI-driven weapons)
Bugs (or overloaded server) are common
Experimental technology, evolving/changing fast
Strategy: Restart browser/app
