A customized version of ChatGPT.
Sometimes it's simply called a "GPT" (plural: "GPTs").
Control how ChatGPT behaves.
Control what additional knowledge ChatGPT has.
Share a GPT with others via a URL/link.
...For example, share a GPT with your team (Business Plan).
ChatGPT follows instructions in GPTs more reliably than through other methods. Tip: Combine Instructions with Conversation Starters.
Access to the o3-Pro AI model.
Compared to a regular chat in ChatGPT, Custom GPTs only include "Add Photos & Files", rather than all the features available in a standard chat.
Solution: Many features can still be activated through prompting, for example by using commands.
Example: Ask ChatGPT to search online instead of using the built-in "Search the Web" feature that can be enabled in a regular chat.
Inside ChatGPT, click "Explore GPTs" in the left sidebar.
Here you can do many different things. For example, you can search for "Consensus", which helps you find research papers and scientific literature. Here's one example:
Scroll down to the section "By ChatGPT". You'll see GPTs such as Data Analyst and DALL·E.
Click "Data Analyst".
Click "Start Chat".
In the model picker at the top, click "Keep in Sidebar" if you want to pin this GPT to the left sidebar in ChatGPT for quick access.
You can now chat with Data Analyst, which is optimized for data analysis and data visualization.
See the images below.
When creating your Custom GPT, you can:
Create conversation starters. An effective way to quickly prompt specific text at the beginning of a chat with ChatGPT.
Upload files (containing information or instructions).
Choose a default AI model (such as GPT-5.2) if you have a specific preference.
Tip: Enable "Data Analysis" so your GPT has strong capabilities for analyzing and working with data, if you need it.
Then select, for example, "Anyone on the Team with the Link" if you want all colleagues sharing the same ChatGPT Business subscription to have access to the GPT you create.
